Hi guys, welcome to MorganTalkies. Glad to meet you again with a new post. So guys, what do you think about travelling? Especially when it comes to travelling in Malaysia? It's wonderful, believe me guys. And today, I'll be talking about my travel to an exotic destination of Malaysia that many local and international tourist visit.

Are you guys prepared to take up the Travel Challenge?

Travel is a pretty taxing element of life, but when we recall all our travels one day when we sit back and relax at home, we'll definitely have the perception that every tiring travels were actually worth while. We will actually realize that to travel is to live, and without travels to different destinations, our life will become a big bore.

Selfies at you trip destinations is definitely fun choice guys!

But before every travel, prior preparation and information must be collected so that we do not happen to be lost or stuck or lost at an unknown part of the land that we are visiting. The place that I will be posting about today is the gem of Malaysia, Pulau Pangkor, an exotic destination that is one of it's kind. The information I'll be providing you is priceless as Pulau Pangkor has  a whole lot of mystery contained in it that will make travelers sure to be helpless at a particular circumstance.

Better not to have the fear of getting lost on a trip...

My trip to Pulau Pangkor was a planned family trip which we had been planning to go for years. Most of the time when we decided to go for it, there will be reasons by boatmen stating that it was a monsoon season, high tide, low tide and so many other reasons. So, this time we decided that monsoon or whatever, we'll would take what it takes and ensure we visited Pulau Pangkor by hook or crook. At the Lumut jetty, we had to find a perfect spot to park our car, and believe me, there are so many to choose from. The standard rate during peak season is RM20 per day and that is exactly what we paid. We got a perfect parking area with roofs to eliminate heat that was worth the price. However, there are many other parking areas to choose from which offer various prices and facilities, but it would be better to park nearer to the Lumut jetty which is also a much cheaper option.

Surely the parking at Pangkor is better than this guys.

At the Lumut jetty, we got an early speedboat  since we had booked it online and just had to wait for less than five minutes before we were speeding off to Pulau Pangkor in a speedboat. There are ferries to available to and from Pulau Pangkor, but I would recommend you guys to try the speedboat. The speedboat will give you thrills as they hop on the waves at top speed which will make you imagine a straight roller coaster ride. If you are adventurous, then why not opt for the speedboat. Or if you think that you would prefer a slow, strolling ride to Pulau Pangkor, then the ferry will be your perfect option. The website that you can book the ferries and speedboats is through this URL; https://www.easybook.com/en-my/ferry/booking/lumutjetty-to-pangkorjetty.

It's Zooming time!

Actually, there are two sides of the island that you can opt to dismount at, which are namely the Pangkor Besar and Pangkor Kecil. If you prefer a slow, relaxing stay, then your place is at Pangkor Kecil. However, if you are outgoing and prefer a happening environment, then Pangkor Besar is you evident choice. My family dismounted at Pangkor Kecil as we preferred a relaxing family trip wih ample time at the beach. Once we reached the Pangkor Kecil jetty, we took a brisk walk to our hotel at Senja Bay. Some hotels around Pangkor may offer their own boat services to and from the Lumut Jetty, but ours did not as it had not been the peak season. The hotel we stayed was the Senja Bay Resort which was a real chalet with no televisions so that we really enjoy the nature around Pangkor. We checked into the hotel and immediately started off after changing into beachwear to walk around the island (a Round Island walk).

Fun at Pangkor Beach.

Armed with the map provided by the hotel reception, we started off our round island walk expecting it to be just under an hour. Believe me, our expectation failed us as the walk took us a good amount of three hours before we reached again to the hotel. We were extremely tired out after the walk, but I have to say the walk was a beautiful one with the nature we saw around us. Many iguanas and monitor lizards of various sizes crossed our paths apart from a few monkeys. The pathway with a surrounding jungle was serene, but a bit dilapidated due to poor maintenance. Once done with the walk, we were very tired and we didn't involve in any beach activities as our arms and legs were very weary. We had a quick meal and hit the bed as early as possible. That reminds me of something, guys the food prices at Pulau Pangkor are pretty high as they have to bring in their food items through boat. If you can get a plate of fried rice for RM5 in other places of  Malaysia, at Pulau Pangkor the standard price of the fried rice will be at RM8 nett. Unbelievable, isn't it? So prepare at least RM50 a day just for food expenses if you are a family of five.

Cup Maggi is a great option too...

The next day, we had extreme fun at the beaches around Pulau Pangkor. We started off by snorkelling at the Senja Bay beach where we saw a variety of colourful fishes. Amazingly, many of the fishes be it big or small swim near to the shore where we can see them so tame swimming through our hands at the beaches around Pangkor. We also snorkelled at the Taman Air Pangkor which can be accessed by boat where we saw a bigger variety of fishes swimming under the jetty. At Pangkor Besar we were unfortunately not allowed to go for a swim as the tides were quite high and strong on that day. If you are intending to snorkel even better, then at a payment of RM100++ per person, boatmen will take you around the sea where you'll be able to see sharks, turtles and many other fishes at specific spots which they live at.  Overall, Pulau Pangkor became a snorkellling heaven for all of us.

Snorkelling for Fishes at Pangkor!

On the final day, we had an early checkout and headed to find seashells at the shores before our speedboat came to take us on our return trip. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Pulau Pangkor and I believe you would feel the same too if you visit Pulau Pangkor. So gear up and get ready for a blast at Pangkor guys. Remember these few tips I learnt on my trip to Pangkor so that you guys can have an enjoyable trip there. When at Pulau Pangkor, sunburn is a common issue. So if you guys are really worried about becoming a darkie, then prepare you sunburn lotions and skincare products before heading out for Pulau Pangkor. Expenses wise, apart from food, the rest of the spenditure around Pulau Pangkor is quite reasonable.
